Hertha Berlin defender Gilberto could be set for a move to Man Utd this January transfer window as Alex Ferguson looks to add more depth to his defence. Hertha's Brazilian born defender is valued at around £1.5 million.

Gilberto is attracting United boss Sir Alex Ferguson into a move and the club is prepared to offer the 31-year old a two and a half year contract.



The Brazilian born left-back said yesterday "I don't want to say too much about it. I have a number of offers, and perhaps I'll stay in Berlin. Or perhaps I'll go to England or Portugal or even back to Brazil. I am not worried."
