Italian international Mario Balotelli could cut short his AC Milan loan stint to return to Liverpool.
The 25-year-old joined the Rossoneri on a season-long loan in the summer, after been deemed surplus to requirements at Anfield.
Balotelli has since then had a torrid time at Milan having suffered a thigh injury which has ruled him out for the first-half of the campaign.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Balotelli is expected to make a return to first-team football in the New Year, and agent Mino Raiola is seemingly confident of seeing his client back in a Reds' shirt.
It is added that Milan would have to comply to see the player's loan spell terminated in the coming weeks.
Balotelli has made just four appearances for his hometown club this term.
