Premier League newcomers Bournemouth will reportedly revive their interest in Sunderland striker Jermaine Defoe this month.
The England international had a successful loan spell at Dean Court from West Ham United way back during the 2000-01 season.
According to The Mirror, Cherries head coach Eddie Howe is keen on signing a new striker, and considers the 33-year-old as the ideal player who could keep the club aloft in the Premier League next season.
It is added that the South Coast side would have to pay a fee in excess of £5m considering the player has two-and-a-half years left on his current deal.
Defoe scored a brace in his side's 3-1 win over fellow strugglers Aston Villa in the Premier League.
