England international Andros Townsend is desperate to find a fresh challenge away from Tottenham Hotspur this month.
The 23-year-old has struggled to earn sufficient playing time this season, and this has led to claims that he could make way from White Hart Lane.
Reports now reveal that Townsend is eager to push through a winter deal with the Magpies being the front-runners to land his signature.
However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is reluctant to offload the player unless their &pound14m valuation is met.
It will be interesting to see whether Spurs would accept yet another loan agreement for the talented winger.
