McLeish chasing McFadden

McLeish chasing McFadden

14 January 2008 - 10:12

After seeing a £2.5 million offer turned down by Everton for James McFadden, Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has admitted that he will not be giving up the chase to sign the Scottish international.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • "James is a proven Premier League player. He has the character to play in a team of mine and he's the type of player I'm looking for," said McLeish.

"He's also got great technical ability and will bring extra from that point of view, if we can do the deal.

"I'd love to work with James again but you never know in this game. I know we have some competition.

"Nothing has happened. We had a recess over the weekend to get on with the football side of things. We'll wait and see how it develops."
