Sunderland confirm Lamine Kone signing

28 January 2016 - 07:35

Sunderland have announced the signing Ivorian defender Lamine Kone from Lorient on a three-and-a-half year deal.

  • Juventus and Napoli enter race for Chelsea winger
  • Felix Nmecha linked with Chelsea move
  • The Black Cats had pulled the plug on the player's arrival earlier this month following the capture of Jan Kirchhoff from Bayern Munich.

However, manager Sam Allardyce has had a change in mind, and has opted to pursue the services of the central defender.

Kone, who has joined on an undisclosed fee, will wear the number 23 shirt at the Wearside outfit.

The Black Cats are currently 19th in the league standings, four points adrift of safety.
