Monchengladbach eye permanent Christensen deal

Borussia Monchengladbach want Andreas Christensen

09 February 2016 - 07:40

Borussia Monchengladbach are expected to pursue a permanent deal for Chelsea youngster Andreas Christensen, sporting director Max Eberl claims.

  • Juventus and Napoli enter race for Chelsea winger
  • Felix Nmecha linked with Chelsea move
  • The 19-year-old joined the Bundesliga side on a season-long loan over the summer.

Since then, he has put up a good showing at Gladbach, and this has tempted the club's hierarchy to reconsider his position.

Eberl has now revealed that his side will seek to seal a permanent contract for the young defender following his excellent progress in Germany.

"Our intention is to try and get into talks with Chelsea in the summer," he told Kicker.

"Andreas fulfills everything we've seen in him. We are delighted that we were able to take him on loan without any ifs and buts."

Christensen joined the Blues from Brondby in 2012.
