Arsenal will step up their efforts to sign a new defensive midfielder during the next transfer window. Leicester City star N'Golo Kante is among the leading candidates in the club's shortlist.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was criticised during the beginning of the season after his side became the only club to have not signed an outfield player last summer.
Since then, the club have struggled to have a fluent run in the Premier League, and this has led to questions marks as to why the club failed to bring in fresh recruits in the transfer window.
French sources now reveal that manager Arsene Wenger will look to solve the club's midfield problems with a move for a holding midfielder in July.
It is also known that Kante, who recently earned a call-up to the France national side, is the preferred target for the Gunners in the summer.
Kante, who is currently valued at £20m, joined the Foxes from French side Caen last year.
