Manchester City striker Sergio Agüero has ruled out the possibility of a return to Spanish football at any time in the future.
Speaking to Spanish radio station Cadena SER, asked whether a return to La Liga is in his future, the former Atlético Madrid player said: "No, I won't return to Spain. I already said that I will go back to Independiente [The Argentinian club for whom Agüero made his professional debut] when my contract ends."
With City having qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Agüero was asked who he would like to be drawn against, and the 27-year-old answered frankly: "Barça and Bayern are the most in-form teams, so it would be better if we could avoid them."
