Manchester United will spend a part of their transfer budget to land Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez this summer. The Colombian international joined Los Blancos from AS Monaco following an impressive display at the World Cup finals in Brazil.

  • Marseille table bid for Chelsea defender

  • The 24-year-old had a great spell in his debut season at the Bernabeu as he netted 17 goals in all competitions.

However, his second year has been rather dismal with severe criticism from the club's hierarchy for his poor conduct off the pitch.

Transfermarketweb claims that United are growingly confident of landing the young midfielder when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

It is also said that the Mancunian giants have have initial talks with the player's representatives ahead of the potential move.

Rodriguez has scored just six times for the Bernabeu giants this term.
