Giorgios Samaras is set to leave Man City to join Birmingham City. Samaras has fallen out of favour under Sven-Goran Eriksson and a move to McLeish's side will give him the first team football he craves.
The two clubs have agreed a fee for the Greek forward and he is now hammering out personal terms with Birmingham.
The Greece international joined Manchester City for £6m from Dutch side Heerenven in January 2006.
Samaras scored six goals for Man City last season but has fallen out of favour under Sven-Goran Eriksson.
