£20 million rated Milan star on Arsenal radar

£20 million rated Milan star on Arsenal radar

01 June 2016 - 08:33

Jeison Murillo will reportedly be offloaded by Inter Milan in the summer due to Inter experiencing severe financial problems, a rumoured £39million deficit is to be made up if they are to comply with new Financial Fair Play regulations.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Club owner Erick Thohir is looking to sell his stake in the club to raise investment but this may not be enough to balance the Italian giant’s books and this could mean a host of players being sold, including the highly rated 24-year-old Colombian centre-back.

The former Udinese centre back was purchased for around £6m from Granada in January 2015, and if sold for the £20 million asking price he would turn a strong profit for the Milan club.

If a bidding war ensues between Arsenal, Premier League Champions Leicester City and Russian club Zenit who are said to be interested in him, this price could go up to £25 million.

Arsenal need to strengthen at centre back and the young Colombian is seen as a strong candidate and has impressed in Serie A this season.

Murillo made 35 appearances in all competitions last season for Inter, scoring two goals and he has 17 caps for Colombia, playing in the 2015 Copa America in which he was named the Best Young Player of the tournament.
