West Ham United are currently leading the hunt to sign Lyon defender Samuel Umtiti this summer. The France international has caught the eye of the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona following an impressive season in Ligue 1.
Umtiti, 22, played a crucial role in Les Gones' backline, as they crept into second place in the league thus automatically qualifying for next season's Champions League.
According to Sky Sports News, the Hammers have expressed interest in landing the Cameroon-born defender, who has the potential to play at either centre-back or left-back.
It is added that Slaven Bilic's side are heading the queue to secure the player's services with Lyon not keen on selling their asset to a direct league rival.
Umtiti appeared in 30 league games for Les Gones in their recently concluded league campaign.
