Kadar joins Newcastle

Kadar joins Newcastle

19 January 2008 - 22:22

Tamas Kadar has joined Newcastle from Zalaegerszegi. The Hungarian youngster joined for £900,000, making him the most expensive defender in Hungarian football history.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd can finally sign Ederson for huge bargain fee
  • Kadar has signed a four and a half year deal at St. James' Park, and recently told his now former club's official website of his joy at sealing the move.

"My dream has come true, that I have signed to play for a club from the Premiership," he said.

"My goal is, of course, to fight and grab a place in the first team as soon as possible."

He went on to recall how his career has taken off so quickly.

"When I was 14 I wasn't a contracted footballer, I played only for fun and I wanted to become a handballer as I'm from Veszprem [the town has a well-known European class handball team]," he recalled.

"I'm happy to get this contract but I don't want to be satisfied only with this. I'm studying English very hard and I want to become a good and successful player."
