A superb 90th minute winner from Portsmouth midfielder Sulley Muntari gave Ghana the perfect start to their hosting of the African Cup of Nations as they defeated Guinea 2-1.
Asamoah Gyan had given Ghana the lead in the 54th minute from the penalty spot, but Guinea equalized in the 64th when Oumar Kalabane scored.
Ghana hit the post three times in the first half, and had plenty of other chances.
But the game was finished when the Pompey midfielder stepped up and smashed the ball home from 25 yards to send the home fans into roars of applause.
