Venables close to EIRE job

Terry Venables is still firm favourite to become the next Republic of Ireland manager.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd can finally sign Ederson for huge bargain fee
  • Job headhunters Don Givens, Don Howe and Ray Houghton will meet the Football Association of Ireland on Tuesday.



    It is believed that no concrete decision will be made on a new manager, but a review of the progess so far seems more likely.



    It is undertood that interviews are still set to be held with Lawrie Sanchez and ex-Derby County boss Billy Davies.



    Venables who was interviewed for the position earlier this month has not said much about it, but it is understood that he impressed the Irish trio.
