Nampalys Mendy joins Leicester City

French midfielder Nampalys Mendy has completed his long awaited move to Leicester City. The 24-year-old has inked a four-year contract with the Premier League holders.

Claudio Ranieri's side had began negotiations with Nice earlier last month with Mendy being one of their prime targets to strengthen their midfield setup.

A deal has now been finalized with the English champions agreeing on a fee close to &pound13m for his transfer.

"I am very happy to come to Leicester City. The team have just enjoyed a great season and it's excellent to be here. For me I want to play at this level," he told the Foxes' official website on his arrival.

Mendy was ever-present for Nice last season as they finished fourth in Ligue 1.
