West Brom reject bids for Saido Berahino

Baggies hopeful of Berahino stay

West Brom reject bids for Saido Berahino

23 July 2016 - 07:26

West Bromwich Albion have rejected offers from Stoke City and Crystal Palace for young striker Saido Berahino. The 22-year-old has stalled on talks over a fresh contract.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao

  • Berahino was heavily tipped to join Tottenham Hotspur last summer before the Baggies' hierarchy intervened to cancel the proposed deal.

Since then, the player has looked far from his old self thus leading to suggestions that he could be shipped during the current transfer window.

According to BBC Sport, the Baggies look to be following a similar trend this year after they rebuffed bids from their league rivals.

Mark Hughes' side have had a &pound20m offer turned down for the player, whilst the Eagles, who came with an improved &pound23m bid suffered the same fate.

West Bromwich are thought to be holding out on a &pound30m valuation for Berahino despite him being in the final year of his contract.
