Patrik Berger will be staying at Aston Villa, according to boss Martin O'Neill. The Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp was reportedly interested in snapping up the Czech midfielder.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd can finally sign Ederson for huge bargain fee
  • "Portsmouth have not come in for Patrik Berger - Patrik Berger has come in for Patrik Berger," O'Neill told the Birmingham Mail.

"Portsmouth have still got to make contact with me about wanting to take him officially.

"Patrik can't go anywhere at the moment because he's injured."

Villa have been quiet in the transfer window so far and O'Neill admits it has been a frustrating time.

"It's a particularly difficult market out there because everyone is chasing the same people," O'Neill added.
