Wolfsburg have secured the services of Mario Gomez from Fiorentina for an undisclosed fee. The 31-year-old has inked was three-year deal with the Bundesliga outfit.
Gomez joins the Wolves following an impressive loan spell with Besiktas where he netted 28 goals in all competitions.
"I'm looking forward to the new challenge," he told the club's official website. "The discussions with [sporting director] Klaus Allofs and [head coach] Dieter Hecking were very good.
"I'm happy to be returning to the Bundesliga. I'd like to play in Europe with VflL and I'm convinced we can do so."
The striker previously featured in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich in 2013. He played a key role for Germany at this summer's European championships before a hamstring niggle ruled him out of the semi-final loss to France.
