Sissoko nears Juventus move

Sissoko nears Juventus move

24 January 2008 - 13:10

Momo Sissoko has spoken of his delight at moving a step closer to a move from Liverpool to Juventus; the midfielder also praised Rafa Benitez for his role and assistance in his move away from the club.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • "It [a deal] is just a few days away," Sissoko told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Three or four days and everything will be decided because we only have a short time.

"I know that everything is moving and I am just waiting on the news.

"I confess that wearing Juve's jersey would be the best," he said.

"When I was a child, I was a Zidane fan.

"Ranieri? I've known him at Valencia and I felt really good with him.

"I am still a Liverpool player, but I must reaffirm that my heart is with Juve. I had a move to Turin a year ago and then everything failed.

"I will always be thankful to Benitez for what he has given me, but in football things move on," he added.

"I'm young and I want to play and at Liverpool in this moment I do not play."
