Klopp denies Liverpool are a selling club

23 September 2016 - 07:35

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has turned down suggestions his side are a selling club. The Reds have recouped fees in excess of £350m from their players since 2010.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • During a survey from Swiss academic research group CIES Football Observatory, it was revealed that the Merseyside giants had filled their banks more than any other European club over the past six years.

Last summer, the Reds had a similar tone in the transfer market as they spent £63m on six recruits, whilst offloading nine players to balance things up.

Klopp has now come up to suggest that the club are not in for money, and it is rather the need to strengthen the squad that forces them to make the necessary changes. He is also hopeful that such activity would be less in the future, should the club get back to their glory days.

Liverpool host newcomers Hull City in the Premier League on Saturday, and nothing less than a win will do if they are to keep up with Manchester City in the league standings.
