Liberian international Dulee Johnson is reportedly close to leaving AIK in Sweden to join Premiership side Birmingham in a £1.4 million move. Johnson had been on trial for a week in early January, but it seems McLeish is now ready to offer the player a full-time contract.
AIK sports director Ola Andersson described Johnson as one of the Swedish leagueâs best midfielders and claimed his team has received a number of offers for the 23-year-old who last year was named as the club's player of the season. Schalke 04 and Atletico Madrid were both considering a move for the youngster.
Johnson had been on Birmingham's wanted list earlier in the transfer window but couldn't meet the asking price of AIK Solna.
