Porto are prepared to offload Yacine Brahimi in the New Year, provided any club matches his &pound40m asking price. Everton and Liverpool were interested in the attacker last summer.
The Algerian international had been tipped to leave the Dragons in August after he was excluded from the club's first-team plans.
However, the Primeira Liga outfit were unable to receive offers close to their valuation and were eventually forced to keep hold of their player.
According to Portuguese source A Bola, Brahimi could be allowed to pursue a fresh challenge in the winter transfer window with him not being in the right shape of mind this season.
The forward currently has a &pound45m release clause in his contract, but the Dragons would be willing to accept a sum close to &pound40m for his transfer.
Porto owe about 50 percent of any sell-on fee to a third party, and this urged them to decline a &pound34m approach from Everton prior to the summer transfer deadline.
