Man Utd enquire about signing Benfica defender

27 November 2016 - 18:31

Manchester United have reportedly enquired over the possibility of signing Victor Lindelof in the January transfer window. The Swede has featured in all but one league game for Benfica this season.

  • Juventus and Napoli enter race for Chelsea winger
  • Felix Nmecha linked with Chelsea move
  • Lindelof, 22, has transformed into a key player for Benfica over the past year following an extended spell with the club's reserve side.

According to Sky Sports, the Red Devils have made a tentative approach over the availability of the defender in the New Year.

Jose Mourinho is on the search for a youthful centre-half to add to his squad and sees the Swede as the perfect player to fit the role.

Lindelof currently has a £25.5m release clause in his contract, and it is believed that Benfica would offer him a fresh deal in order to double his valuation.
