England international Wayne Rooney will reportedly leave Manchester United for a big payday in the Far East this summer.

  • The 31-year-old recently became the club's all-time leading scorer with a late goal against Stoke City last weekend, and he may now assess his future at Old Trafford.

According to The Sun, the club-captain is eyeing a potential challenge in the Chinese Super League next season as he has yet to receive offers from the MLS - his preferred destination.

Rooney is expected to receive wages in excess of £700,000-a-week in China, and it could be an offer hard to refuse, given the number of European-based players that have linked up with the Asian spenders.

The experienced striker has struggled to cement a regular role with club and country this term, and he could leave the Premier League with his Manchester United contract due to expire in 18 months' time.
