Prica seals precious Sunderland win

Prica seals precious Sunderland win

29 January 2008 - 22:47

The Black Cats sealed a vital 2-0 win over Birmingham City with Rade Prica climbing off the bench to score Sunderland's second decisive goal.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Daryl Murphy opened the scoring with a neat finish from Kenwyne Jones's knock-down.

Cameron Jerome should have equalised when his shot on the break was saved, but City offered little else in attack.

The victory will provide a welcome relief for Sunderland manager Roy Keane as he sees his team move up to 14th position in the premiership.

Birmingham on the other hand are languishing dangerous close to the relagation zone in 17th place.

With the premiership title looking to go all the way to the wire, the same could be said about the fight for those teams to stay in the premiership.
