Krul heads to the Premier League

Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul is to undergo a medical today ahead of a loan move to Watford.

  • Watford are in need of cover after Costel Pantilimon was injured during the defeat in the FA Cup fourth-round defeat to Milwall.

    The Hornets see Krul as the most suitable replacement and it is understood he will sign before the 11pm deadline. 

    The 28-year old, who has been number 1 for Newcastle over the last few seasons, has been continuing his recovery from a cruciate knee ligament injury which he picked up on international duty for the Netherlands Krul has been on loan at Ajax an has failed to make an appearance during his spell for the first team.  

    He is set to stay at Watford for the remainder of the season. He returned to full fitness along time ago and will be hoping to remind the Magpies boss Rafael Benitez of what he can do.
