Mancunian duo line up move for ex-Arsenal target

13 February 2017 - 06:02

Manchester City and Manchester United are reported to be eyeing a move for Djibril Sidibe at the end of the season. The France international was the subject of an approach from Arsenal last summer.

  • Chelsea target expected to sign for Real Madrid
  • Arsenal ace can leave for just £5m this summer
  • Sidibe, 24, is currently plying his trade for AS Monaco for whom he joined from Lille at the start of the campaign.

According to The Manchester Evening News, both City and United are keeping tabs on the Frenchman, who is comfortable playing on either side of the central defenders.

Sidibe was initially expected to link up with rivals Arsenal this season but he opted to join the Principality outfit as he felt more wanted by the club.

Since then, the full-back has been efficient in the left-back position, and this has helped Monaco push for their first title since the millennium

Monaco are currently top of Ligue 1 with 58 points, three adrift of second-placed Paris Saint-Germain.
