Juventus chief doubts Marco Verratti signing

Verratti to Juventus unlikely - Marotta

Juventus chief doubts Marco Verratti signing

18 February 2017 - 10:42

Juventus chief Giuseppe Marotta insists that his side do not have much of a chance of signing Paris Saint-Germain's Marco Verratti in the summer.

  • Juventus and Napoli enter race for Chelsea winger
  • Felix Nmecha linked with Chelsea move
  • The Italy international recently revealed his desire to lift the Champions League at Les Parisiens after he helped them clinch a comfortable 4-0 win over Barcelona in the last 16, first-leg.

The Old Lady have held a long-term interest in the former Pescara man, but Marotta admits that a deal is highly unlikely during the off-season.

"I'm very happy for him and our national team," he told Mediaset Premium.

"He's a great player who we like, even if I think it's utopian to think of him because PSG are focusing on him and we don't have an opportunity."

Verratti was previously linked with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United late last year amid constant criticism over his performances in the French media.

He has since, however, resolved his situation in the French capital, and he is now in a position where he sees more success with the Ligue 1 holders.
