Man Utd have first refusal on key Chelsea target

Manchester United will reportedly ward off interest from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City this summer after they secured a first-refusal option on Bernardo Silva.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The 22-year-old dubbed 'The Little Messi' has been simply sensational for Monaco this campaign, and many predict he will be named the 'Ligue 1 Player of the Year'.

According to Le 10 Sport, European trio Chelsea, Manchester City and Barcelona could face defeat in the attacker's chase with United having secretly negotiated a deal with Jorge Mendes.

Bernardo has been recently the subject of a potential £70m move to Stamford Bridge, but it now appears that United are in the front seat to sign the forward-minded player.

The Portugal international joined the Principality outfit on an initial loan from Benfica in 2014 before the move was made permanent a year later.

He was recently part of the Monaco side that lost out 5-3 to Manchester City in the Champions League last 16, first-leg, despite holding a 3-2 advantage at one stage.
