Manchester United are prepared to commit goalkeeper David de Gea to a new long-term deal in order to end all interest from Real Madrid.
The Spain international came close to linking up with Los Blancos in the summer of 2015, but the delay in paperwork scuppered the deal on deadline day.
De Gea has since committed his future to United on a fresh four-year deal with the option of a further year, should both parties be interested.
According to The Star, United are planning talks over a new contract with De Gea which will keep him at Old Trafford until the summer of 2023.
The shot-stopper will also earn a decent increase on his £130,000 weekly salary alongside the option of upping his release clause.
De Gea currently has special £50m clause on his deal which Los Blancos could activate trigger in the summer, but United will seek to further up the value to around £62m.
