Barca deny Mourinho move

Barca deny Mourinho move

01 February 2008 - 01:11

Despite reports of Frank Rijkaard's future at Barcelona being in jeopardy, the club have moved swiftly to support the Dutchman and deny interest in Jose Mourinho.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Barcelona president Joan Laporta has insisted the Catalans are firmly behind Rijkaard and that no such talks have taken place.

"We're not thinking of another coach. Rijkaard is under contract until 2009" he said.

"He's a great coach whose image matches the club's. He is serene, sensible, capable, hard-working and he has a sense of humour.

"He has been with us for five years and he will leave when he wants."
