Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has reportedly agreed personal terms ahead of a summer move to the Major League Soccer.

  • The former Germany international has been sparingly used this season with just four appearances across all competitions.

Schweinsteiger had attracted interest from numerous clubs at the turn of the year, but he opted to stay put at Old Trafford until the end of the season.

According to The Sun, the World Cup winner will be allowed to leave on a free this summer despite having a year left on his present contract.

It is added that the experienced midfielder has already lined up a move to Chicago Fire which he will take a 35 percent pay cut on his existing £140,000-a-week wages in Manchester.

Schweinsteiger ended his 17-year association with Bayern Munich to join the Red Devils in the summer of 2015, but a move has not worked out as he had visualized.

The 32-year-old was awarded the man of the match in his only start for Manchester United this term - a goal and an assist in the 4-0 FA Cup win over Wigan Athletic.
