Defoe deal excites Harry

Pompey boss Harry Redknapp believes that Defoe's career can now be re-ignited at Portsmouth.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • "He is a terrific finisher and has always scored goals. With a run and confidence he will show that he is a top, top goalscorer."

Defoe expressed that there were no hard feelings towards Juande Ramos and Spurs.

"There is no bitterness towards Spurs at all. I'm not like that. The manager has got his team and it's balanced. Sometimes in life you have to think about yourself and I wasn't playing football, which was really frustrating.

"But I had a great time at Spurs, the fans were great with me and I wish them all the best in the Carling Cup final against Chelsea."
