Curbs blasts Wigan pitch

Curbs blasts Wigan pitch

03 February 2008 - 10:52

West Ham boss Alan Curbishley snapped at the quality of the JJB Stadium's pitch as he saw his Hammers side downed by 1-0 to Premiership strugglers Wigan. Curbishley felt the pitch had a bearing on the outcome of the final score.

  • Chelsea make firm decision on Marc Guehi
  • Chelsea striker won't return after temporary stint

  • The former Charlton chief said: "It's very difficult and I don't know whose fault it is, but I don't think the Premier League are used to it.

"For anybody coming here they have to get used to it because it's a big factor and you find yourself punting the ball long.

"But I thought it was always going to be a tight game, a scrappy, hard-fought contest, yet after the result in midweek we're massively disappointed.

"I'm sure Wigan are absolutely delighted with the three points, and I hope it does them the world of good."
