Hamburg drop crucial points

03 February 2008 - 10:57

Bundesliga chasing side Hamburg dropped two crucial points at the weekend to Hannover as they drew 1-1 at the Nordbank Arena. Huub Stevens, the Hamburg boss, was gutted at the outcome of the game.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Croatia striker Ivica Olic 70th-minute strike cancelled out Hanover's Szabolcs Huszti 40th-minute penalty.

The result means Hamburg, 33 points, drop to the fourth place, six points behind leaders Bayern Munich who beat Hansa Rostock 2-0 on Friday.

Manager Huub Stevens slammed his men after the game.

"I want to completely forget the first half very quickly. We made the opposition look good and showed no passion.

"After the break, we played much better and managed to pick up a point."
