Alex McLeish is refusing to panic despite seeing his Birmingham side not win since Boxing Day and give away an important three points thanks to a late Derby equaliser in their Premiership game on Saturday.
McLeish barked: "If the league was decided by this game then I would agree with the chairman. It is not so therefore I don't agree with what he said.
"But the chairman is entitled to speak his mind and I don't think what he said was controversial.
"There are plenty of points still to play for and as far as I am aware the league is decided in May so there is no need to panic because of this result.
"I thought the performance was good. We created chances. Maybe the final decision-making could have been better. And that is something which has to improve.
"This was not the deciding game although their late goal was a kick in the proverbials. I thought once we had gone ahead the game would be done and dusted and that we would be over the line.
"If it was a bad performance it might have created a pressure but we played well and got a good response out of the game at Sunderland.
"The league is not finished. Wigan and Bolton have been in the bottom three this season and they have got out of it and we have the quality to do the same.
"But we also know if we keep drawing it is not going to take us much further. Somewhere down the line we have to start winning games.
"In the transfer window I would have liked a couple more players but it was not to be. We have got a couple to come back from the African Nations Cup. I am sure we will stick together and can get the points needed to keep us up."
