Holland and Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff has said that he has never suggested that he hoped Jose Mourinho would take charge of Barcelona instead of current boss Frank Rijkaard.
"The rumours are completely false," he said.
"Firstly because we have a coach under contract until 2009 and secondly because Rijkaard is my friend.
"I would never say everything that has been said about a friend behind his back.
"Nobody from the board has asked me about Mourinho and I think Rijkaard should stay because the club needs stability."
