Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has set his sights on signing Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso at the end of the current campaign.

  • The 22-year-old has evolved into a key contributor for Les Gones over the course of the campaign, but despite this, he is understood to be assessing his future.

Tolisso earned his first cap with the France national team earlier in March and he is now keen to maintain his spot with Les Bleus ahead of next year's World Cup in Russia.

According to The Mirror, the versatile attacker will push for a bigger challenge elsewhere this summer as he aims to strengthen his chances of a World Cup berth.

Tolisso has previously admitted his ambition to feature in the Champions League next season, and this could go on to haunt the Gunners, who could miss out on the elite competition for the first time in 20 years.

Arsenal find themselves a point behind fourth-placed Liverpool with just a game left in the season, and it looks highly unlikely that the Reds will drop points against relegated Middlesbrough.

Lyon value Tolisso at around £30m following a promising season where he has notched 13 goals and six assists in all competitions.
