Alvaro Negredo on his way to Galatasaray?

21 May 2017 - 05:13

Former Manchester City striker could be heading for a fresh challenge in Turkey with Galatasaray once his season-long loan with Middlesbrough concludes this summer.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The 31-year-old opted for a temporary stint with Boro from Valencia last summer after having struggled to adapt at the Mestalla.

He has since managed 10 goals from 36 outings for the Riverside club, but this has not been sufficient to preserve Boro's Premier League status for another season.

A return to Los Che looks improbable for Negredo next term, and it appears that Galatasaray are vying for his services alongside Spanish club Espanyol.

"Yes we held talks with Alvaro Negredo but revealing too much information harms us," Gala sporting director Ergun told FourFourTwo.

"These types of players are highly regarded. It is important to announce such moves when it's time."

Negredo netted 23 goals in his sole season at Manchester City between 2013 and 2014 before he was surprisingly sold off to Valencia in order to avoid any Financial Fair Play punishments.
