Inter Milan offered Conte ten year contract

Inter Milan's determination to bring Antonio Conte to the club this summer lead the owners to offer him a ten year contract worth £106 million sources in Italy have reported today.

Ultimately, the Milan club were unsuccessful in their pursuit of Conte, who opted to stay with Chelsea, who he lead to the Premier League trophy in his debut season with them. 

Corriere dello Sport reported that Suning Group, who completed their takeover of Inter Milan last year, were desperate to see Conte in charge of their team and were willing to offer him £200,000 per week on a ten year contract. 

Inter Milan have not played in the Champions League since 2012 and they are desperate to get back to competing for Europe's most prestigious trophy. 

They finished seventh in Serie A last season, meaning that a huge improvement is required next time around. It is expected to be a busy summer for Inter, as they look to spend big and become a force to be reckoned with once again. 

With their bid to attract Conte to the club failing, the man in charge of leading the team in their pursuit of success is Luciano Spalletti.

Spalletti is no stranger to winning having won the Russian Premier League with Zenit St Petersburg and lead Roma to their record points total in Serie A last season
