Blades to sue West Ham

16 August 2007 - 11:56

Sheff Utd have confirmed they are to sue West Ham for the equivalent of the cost of their relegation from the Premier League. The club have confirmed they will be going to the High Court to regain the costs incurred due to relegation and plan to use the Tevez case to get their compensation.

  • Chelsea ready to pay €75m for Eduardo Camavinga
  • Chelsea planning move for Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli

  • Sheff Utd have put the cost at an estimated £30 to £50 million. A member of the clubs legal team said, "West Ham have admitted to lying to the Premier League in order to secure the registration of Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez."

The Blades have only recently failed in a bid to force disciplinary action against West Ham.
