  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The Giants stadium was full to capacity as LA Galaxy took an early 2-0 lead with a great assist from Beckham. Carlos Pavon got on the scoresheet twice, however NY looked very impressive especially through ex-Aston Villa striker Juan Pablo Angel.

David Beckham made his first start since joining the club and the game was played on artificial turf, and the game was played at a great pace but Beckham looked lively throughout.

After half time, the Red Bulls grabbed 4 goals, and Landon Donovan and Edson Buttle both scored late goals to bring the scores back to 4-4. However, Juan Pablo Angel, in the last couple of minutes, scored a great winner to seal the victory.

Angel's two goals brings his tally this season to 12. Beckham did pick up a knock and his ankle looked very swollen at the end, but he hopes to still appear for England in the upcoming friendly against Germany.
