Anichebe wants Everton start

15 February 2008 - 17:37

Everton striker Victor Anichebe believes that he is far from the finished article but is willing to work to help him guarantee a starting spot in the Toffees' first team.

  • Chelsea winger suffers head injury vs Nottingham Forest
  • Man Utd star preparing farewell video ahead of transfer
  • "I have still got a lot of work to do to be the finished article and for the gaffer to put me in from the start," he told evertonTV.

"I see that sometimes, when I get put in from the start I am not as effective as when I am coming on.

"So I still need to work on a lot of things but Europe has been a big boost for me.

"Hopefully I can keep scoring in Europe but the most important thing is that the team does well. I wouldn't say I'm a secret weapon.

"Hopefully I can keep doing it until the end of the competition, hopefully the final. We are not going to get ahead of ourselves but hopefully I can keep doing it."
