Boro want to keep Schwarzer

Boro want to keep Schwarzer

23 February 2008 - 00:12

Middlesbrough are keen to hang on to Australian goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer. The keeper has spent 11 years at the Riverside, and Schwarzer is in talks regarding a new contract but several sides are interested in making a move.

  • Gary Neville breaks silence on Ruben Amorim
  • Confirmed Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Brentford, Estevao absent

  • Southgate commented: "Mark's contract is up in the summer, but it's one of those situations where he is playing so well you don't want to upset things.

"But it is a situation I am conscious of. He didn't want to talk about it until January at the earliest.

"I have got a very good relationship with him, but I need to talk to him and see what his thoughts are as much as anything."
