Chelsea are reportedly looking into a deal for RB Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi, who spent his initial professional career with Premier League side Liverpool.

  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • According to ESPN, the Blues are considering a potential approach for the Hungary international, who is widely regarded as one of the best shot-stoppers in the Bundesliga.

It is added that the 27-year-old is seen as a probable replacement for Thibaut Courtois, should the Belgian refuse to extend his contract beyond the end of next season.

Courtois has been widely tipped to join Real Madrid at the end of the campaign, but he has recently suggested that he could run down his Blues deal, should contract talks not progress.

Gulacsi spent five seasons at Liverpool between 2008 and 2013, where he failed to make single appearance, but he has since transformed his career by moving to Red Bull Salzburg who thereafter sold him to sister club Leipzig in 2015.

Owing to his association with the Reds, Gulacsi would be termed as a home-grown player if signed. The Hungarian is presently contracted to Leipzig until the summer of 2022.
