Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian as they seek to potentially replace Hector Bellerin at the end of the season.
The Spain international has had another average campaign by his standards, and it appears that he could be sold in the summer in order to exercise the club's plans of a squad overhaul.
According to Goal.com, the north Londoners are weighing up an approach for Darmian, who is widely expected to leave Old Trafford in the summer. The former Torino man is capable of featuring across the defence, but the Gunners see him as a possible successor to Bellerin for the right-back position.
Bellerin is supposedly attracting interest from the likes of Napoli and Juventus whilst there is also talk of United discussing a part-exchange involving Darmian in the summer.
Despite the speculation, Bellerin's agent Albert Botines has clarified that the Spaniard is 'happy' at the Emirates, having commanded a regular role on the right side of the backline.
