£75 million Madrid star finally heading to the Premier League?

28 March 2018 - 23:23

After rejecting a move to Manchester City on two separate occasions in the past, it could be third time lucky for the soon-to-be Premier League champions as Real Madrid's Isco is rumoured to be the subject of a £75 million summer transfer deal.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The 25-year-old, who scored a hat-trick in Spain's 6-1 friendly demolition of Argentina on Tuesday, appears to have decided on a future away from the Santiago Bernabeu and Pep Guardiola is at the front of the queue of managers who want to add him to their squad in the coming months.

After a disappointing domestic campaign which has seen Real Madrid drop well off the pace in La Liga, Los Blancos are preparing for a summer rebuilding project and Isco could well be one of the players shown the exit door.

Isco currently earns around £140,000 per week in the Spanish capital and Manchester City would comfortably be able to accommodate an increase in that should a deal be agreed.

Both Real Madrid and Manchester City are still competing in this season's Champions League and Pep Guardiola could get a very good look at his transfer target should the two be drawn against each other in a later round.

With an abundance of quality, there will be plenty of interest in Isco if his availability is confirmed, with Manchester United and Arsenal also being linked. The successful club is likely to be the one that can persuade him that they are capable of mounting a serious challenge on the European stage over the course of the coming years.
