Romagnoli wanted on a long-term basis at Milan

Chelsea issued hands-off warning over AC Milan star

29 March 2018 - 18:14

AC Milan has issued a hands-off warning to clubs interested in approaching them for Alessio Romagnoli in the summer. The Italy international has been constantly linked with a move away from San Siro with Chelsea said to be his main admirers.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • In an interview with TMW, Milan sporting director Max Mirabelli stressed that the club are not seeking to do business for Romagnoli, and talks are already underway with the player's representative to commit him for the long-term.

He said: "We want Alessio Romagnoli to remain for a long time and we are already talking to his agent. We trust all our players can accompany us for a long while yet."

Obviously, there has been talk of Milan struggling to cope with the Financial Fair Play regulations ahead of the summer, but club president Yonghong Li remains optimistic of finding a new business partner to sort out the situation.

Milan are currently five points behind arch-rivals Inter in the quest for the final Champions League spot, and their failure to finish in the top four may limit their chances of spending during the summer.
